Hindi 720p Alibaba Aur 40 Chap is a remake of the 1982 blockbuster Urdu film by the same name. The film is directed by Syed Noor and produced by Humayun Saeed & Abdullah Kadwani. It stars Humayun Saeed, Reema Khan, Neelam Muneer and Imran Abbas Naqvi. The music has been composed by Shani Arshad and sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sajjad Ali & Qurratulain Balouch. The trailer has been viewed over 200,000 times since it was uploaded on October 24, 2013. The film had a good opening with a collection of 13.4 million in its first week. The collections of the film fell drastically in the second week with a collection of 7.5 million. The total collections of the film have been 30.25 million since its release on Eid ul Adha, 2012 until June 23, 2013, completing 30 weeks in theatres. The remake was one of the most awaited films of 2012 and garnered massive hype from critics and audiences alike, largely due to the star cast and the association Humayun Saeed has with director Syed Noor's work from his Babul series to "Zinda Bhaag". The film has received mainly positive reviews, with much praise given to Humayun Saeed and Reema Khan. The soundtrack of the Hindi dubbed version of the film Alibaba Aur 40 Chor was much appreciated by album reviewers. The soundtrack consists of five songs with all lyrics written by Muhammad Waris Shah. The song "Dum Tera" is the only original composition in the soundtrack by Shani Arshad & Qurratulain Balouch.
